An extremely successful 49th Annual Dinner Dance to honor Suzanne Karkus, President of Izod Womenswear was held November 9th at the Grand Hyatt, New York.
The evening was a smashing success, fun was had by all and a substantial amount of funds was raised to support The Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine at NY Hospital Center. (Click on each photo to enlarge).
On Wednesday, August 18th, Suzanne Karkus, President of IZOD Womenswear was introduced to the Club members at the Meet The Honoree evening at the Water Club.
The invitations for the Gala HUG dinner has not been mailed yet. However, Ms. Karkus already raised substantial funds for the Rusk Kids. she spoke of her dedications to the cause of helping the Children at Rusk and promised that the Hug Dinner on November 9th will be a great success.
At the same evening, Past President Jack Hendler received the coveted Al Jaffin Award for his unending service to the organization.
The Christmas/Hanukkah in July Party for the Rusk kids was a rousing success. Santa visited the 9th floor and handed a full bag of goodies to all the kids there. Then Santa (Walter Costello) and Sponge Bob (Josephine Salmieri) were real hits with the kids at the Horizon House as well as with the kids' siblings and parents. Every patient was given a bagful of toys. Grilled burgers and chicken were served. The chef was non other than Lisa Del Guidici. The cake was demolished to the last morsel. A good time was had by all.
